I was first introduced to Longfellow's work as a teen and immediately fell in love.  While other young girls were reading harlequin romances, I was reading poetry.  My favorite by this great poet, is The Wreck of the Herperus.  Even after years of discovering more brilliant poets and beautiful works of poetry, it remains my  all time favorite.
